from 0.350 cumecs in 1990 to 2.368 cumecs in 2018ĪBSTRACT This research paper compares the result of Object based and Pixel based classification techniques for glacier change detection on Landsat Thematic mapper (TM) and Enhanced Thematic Mapper (ETM+) imageries. The average discharge from the basin area of the study for particular year has increased at large extend i.e. Surface runoff increased from 187.23 mm/year in 1990 to 5l0.78 mm/year in 20l8. The analysis of result shows the rise in built-up area from 19.70 % to 26.72 % an increase in agriculture area from 9.53 % to 12.23 % an increase in barren land from 18.20 % to 25.38 % a reduced in green cover (vegetation) from 47.02 % to 40.94% and a decrease in water bodies from 5.52 % to 4.7 %. The four satellite images of year 1990, 2000, 20 were acquired of Path & Row as 146/39 from the USGS site with an aim to produce a LULC map of Dehradun valley in order to detect the changes. Aim of the study is to perceive LULC change for years 1990, 2000, 20 using satellite images of resolution 30m. In recent years, the use of spatial data technologies, especially Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) has been extensively used in combination with Software's like ERDAS Imagine, ArcGIS, and ArcGlS Model. A rapid growth of population in India is a cause of concern among the planners for effective Urban & Water Management Planning. LU/LC is an essential factor in understanding the association of the human intervention with the environment is essential to simulate changes. The integration of Geographical Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing has provided a tool, which can contribute to much clearer understanding of real planning problems as well as prescriptive planning scenarios to enhance the quality of urban planning and manag. It offers a solution to the urban problems and decision-making, which is more reliant to the real-time spatial modelling. With the advancement of GIS, which considerably influenced the dynamic nature of urban and regional planning, incorporation of GIS becomes imperative for better and improved decision-making in urban planning and management. Urbanization contributes many advantages in terms of economics, but if uncontrolled, would produce negative consequences to the physical, social and natural environment. Hyderabad is experiencing a rapid urbanization rate. Role of urban planning and management in Hyderabad is becoming more and more crucial due to the dramatic increase in urban population and allied urban problems.
